2010 AFF Scholarship
American Family Fitness is pleased to offer two $1,000 scholarships and one $3,000 scholarship to graduating seniors from the counties of Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico or Spotsylvania and the cities of Colonial Heights or Fredericksburg. To be eligible to apply, you must reside in one of these cities or counties and meet the following qualifications:
Be a graduating senior with an intended college major in a field of business such as sports medicine, physical education, management, health and fitness, etc. The recipient may qualify for and receive some form of student aid but would have difficulty affording college without this assistance.
Maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Be accepted to a college or university
Demonstrated a strong work ethic
Perform at least 20 hours of community service. Please list your community service over the last four years, and the agency or organization where you volunteered. If you are interested in working with American Family for your community service, please contact Cindy Brown at 804-965-5300 Ext. 150.
Exhibit strong leadership/citizenship characteristics as a participant in extracurricular activities such as sports, athletics, etc. Please include list of physical activities you are involved in.
Each applicant must submit an essay that meets specifications (all essays must be double-spaced using a 12-point font size and must not exceed two pages in length) and answer the following questions: Who is your role model and why?
